Yay for Snow!

This is nice news: One of my former profs, the brilliant Rob Frayne, told me that he realised he was crying tears of joy at my last gig!

Come see me play in person! Please see the performances page for upcoming shows.

Watch me play right now! Please check out this LIVE TO ANAGLOG RECORDING/VIDEO! Thanks to the incredible Bova Sound studio in Ottawa.

What a thrill to play at the Ottawa Bluesfest, the Ottawa Jazzfest, the Fringe, Lumiere and Ottawa Folk festivals, and to have received the Galaxie Rising Star award!

Lynn Saxberg says this:

"Ottawa singer-songwriter-pianist Megan Jerome launched the mainstage program with a lovely performance of her quirky songs, including several that make reference to life in the nation’s capital. Accompanied by her husband, drummer Mike Essoudry, the curly-haired Jerome wore an eye-catching orange tutu dress designed by Ottawa’s Ashley Parsons for the occasion. Displaying a charming voice and inventive piano work, her musical style was reminiscent of a cross between Jane Siberry and Kate Bush. Jerome is the recipient of this year’s Galaxie Rising Star award..." The Ottawa Citizen

Sonny Emory, Bobby Read, and JT Thomas, from Bruce Hornsby's band, watched our show from backstage and introduced themselves afterwards, saying how they loved our set! Seriously! More than dream a come true!

"In a summer of touring with Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers on festivals and with opening bands, I've rarely been as entertained and satisfied as the day I saw Megan Jerome and her drummer Mike Essoudry at the Ottawa Folk Festival. A captivating performer and fine singer, Megan's songs are quirky and fun, dark and brooding, rich -- like traditional music. Still modern though for all you trad-avoiders - a big grooving sound with just the 2 of them." Bobby Read

Bloomers is my newest cd, a duo disc with Mike Essoudry. It's had a heavenly review in i (heart) music

Bloomers has been on iTunes charts in New Zealand and Portugal, has been one of the New CDs of the Month on CBC Radio (Fresh Air), and has been on the Top 30 charts at CKCU, CHUO and CKUA. Bloomers was nominated for best new folk/country album of the year (2010) in the XPress. A song from Bloomers, a field! the moon! the stars! was Track of the Day on CBC Radio 3, and Flora was a song of the year on i (heart) music. Thanks all!
